In Hinduism, the wedding ceremony is known as Vivaah, and it is considered to be a sacred and elaborate event. The wedding ceremony begins with the arrival of the groom and his family, who are welcomed by the bride's family with aarti and garlands. The bride's family then performs the Kanyadaan, which involves giving away the bride to the groom. The ceremony continues with the exchange of vows and the tying of the mangalsutra, which is a sacred necklace that symbolizes the union between the couple. This is followed by the exchange of rings and the seven vows, known as Saptapadi, which are taken by the couple while walking around the sacred fire. The ceremony culminates with the Sindoor Daan, which involves the groom placing sindoor or vermillion on the bride's forehead, signifying their marriage. This is followed by the Mangalashtakam, which is a prayer for the couple's happiness and prosperity. After the wedding ceremony, a reception is usually held, where the newlyweds and their families celebrate and enjoy a meal together.
